Second Cook

Job Summary:

Amsterdam Manor Beach Resort is looking for a dedicated Second Cook to join our kitchen team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking meals according to the menu, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner. You will also be tasked with executing meals based on various recipes, ensuring high quality and consistency in each dish. The Second Cook plays a vital role in supporting the kitchen team and ensuring that all food safety and hygiene standards are met.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner services according to the menu and recipes.
• Follow established cooking procedures and recipes to ensure quality and consistency.
• Assist in food preparation and presentation, ensuring dishes are prepared to the highest standards.
• Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations, including proper food storage and handling.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, ensuring workstations are prepared for service.
• Monitor food temperatures and ensure proper portion control.
• Follow HACCP guidelines and ensure compliance with safety and sanitation standards.
• Work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations during busy service periods.

Requirements:

• EPI Hospitality Diploma (Certified Cook) or equivalent qualification.
• At least two years of relevant experience as a cook.
• Ability to speak English, Spanish, and Papiamento.
• Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and temperature control.
• Familiarity with the HACCP program and procedures.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
