Lead Cook

About the Role:

As a Lead Cook at Amsterdam Manor Beach Resort, you’ll be a key member of the culinary team, responsible for overseeing food preparation and cooking. You’ll ensure dishes meet our high standards while managing a team of kitchen staff, delegating tasks, and training new team members. With your strong culinary background, including butcher skills, you’ll work closely with the Executive and Sous Chefs to maintain food quality, consistency, and kitchen organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook a variety of dishes following established recipes and food standards.
• Oversee and delegate tasks to kitchen staff, ensuring efficiency and adherence to quality standards.
• Train new kitchen staff and provide ongoing coaching to improve their skills.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and organization, ensuring compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
• Follow HACCP guidelines and ensure proper food handling and temperature control.
• Assist with inventory management and ensure proper storage of ingredients.
• Perform butcher duties, such as preparing meats and other food items, as needed.

Requirements:

• EPI in Hospitality & Tourism “Culinary Arts.”
• 3 years of experience in a similar position.
• 1 year of experience as a Butcher.
• Must be able to speak and understand English, Spanish, and Papiamento.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Flexible working hours, including nights and weekends.
